Tuning out

I was at the Mela today and it reminded me of the importance of 'tuning out' now and again. Life can be so exhausting feeling you have to do stuff all the time- when you don't really. From now on I am going to take to take some time out to read a gorgeous book everyday and get down to the sea.

Christmas - O my lord

I have been shopping today and spending money with abandon because it is Christmas in less than 2 days and I haven't bought everyone presents but I feel I should comment on the lack of Christmas spirit around - dear oh dear! It really is SO depressing. No staff in shops, people getting really angry in queues, shouting at children; maybe its always like this, it's such a shame.

I actually feel quite cheerful today. I have been baking gingerbread til late at night and its very satisfying indeed to have boxes of gingerbread men to offer people when they come round. I didn't get round to baking a Christmas cake in the end but you can't do everything. I bought a beautiful and perfect one this year unlike my homemade and unperfect one last year.
